Laura San Giacomo

 San Giacomo made his television debut in 1987 with four episodes on three television shows. Two of her most memorable appearances were in Crime Story (Season 2, Episode 13) in 1988 as Theresa Farantino. In Miami Vice (1989), she was featured in the episode "Protected Witness" Season 5, Episode 21, as Tania Lewis. The Miami Vice episode also featured the appearance of her soon-to-be husband, actor Cameron Dye, one year prior to the wedding. Prior to that, she was featured on the soap opera daytime All My Children as Louisa Sanchez, the Latina common-law wife of Mitch Beck (Brian Fitzpatrick) and her presence was threatening to end his love affair with Hillary Martin (Carmen Thomas).However, San Giacomo first drew international attention with Steven Soderbergh's Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989) in which also marked her film debut as a recognized actor (in the 1988 film Miles from Home, her part as "Sandy" wasn't credited). The film won a Golden Globe Award nomination and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association New Generation Award. The film was awarded the Cannes Film Festival's most prestigious Grand Prize, the Palme d'Or.In 1990, San Giacomo played a character in the film as Julia Roberts's character's wisecracking roommate Kit De Luca in Pretty Woman. The film earned $178 million in box office revenues. The Stephen King TV miniseries The Stand starred her as Nadine in a cross-over with Rob Lowe. The cover of TV Guide, May 7-13 1994, featured the miniseries. She continued to make films through 1999.
